Chris Snyder, Author
Chris Snyder was born and raised in Upstate New York. A graduate of Syracuse University at Utica College, Snyder headed west in search of an MFA from University of California at Northridge. An internship and part-time employment led to a career in the entertainment industry. Chris had originally planned to be on stage and in front of the cameras, but life and a natural inclination for talent recognition and representation got in the way. Snyder worked for Iris Burton from 1989 until 1994 and then again from 1995 until 2001.
In a hiatus from Burton, Snyder ran a Bed and Breakfast on the Island of Santorini in Greece. He took a year off after his second exit from the Iris Burton Agency working on his book and traveling. Fate again intervened and former clients of the Iris Burton Agency pursued Snyder to manage them. Snyder formed his company “Chris Snyder Managemen.t” While working full-time as a talent agent and talent manager, Snyder pursued some creative writing classes, keeping journals, and writing more and more. The outcome of these writings began to morph into a compilation of chapters that formed his first novel.
Snyder continues to live, work and write in Hollywood. His clients have included Kirsten Dunst, Josh Hartnett and Joaquin Phoenix.
